We received the full play of NieR Replicant on PC, and it is out of this world. The three-hour demo features two lengthy areas. These areas take us back to where NieR Replicant had its roots. You get to go on an action-packed mission in the ruins of Yotamaja and fight through a fierce cave and massive cave system filled with enemy robots. This time around, you will be a protagonist, or at least you can play as Adam, one of the founding members of the Resistance, and who will be equipped with an exo-skeleton designed to withstand the harsh environment.
NieR Replicant is getting two new modes added to the demo that weren’t available in the first one: Double Fine Guile, an online co-op mode, and Freedom Mission. Double Fine Guile enables you to play Ryu Hayabusa, the infamous action hero of the original Devil May Cry and a playable character in Yakuza 6. Freedom Mission is a free-roaming adventure that has you doing some new things as a character, like slashing enemies, though we can’t reveal why this was added.
Once you run out of ammo, you can use the machine gun as a makeshift second weapon. You can also use it as a makeshift shield, but you’ll need to use it as one for the best effect.
