Mercenaries 2 World in Flames is a follow-up to Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction, an upgrade of the PC’s previous Merciless video game. It is developed and published by Pandemic Studios, Pi Studios, Behaviour Interactive. It was released on 31 August 2008 and available for PlayStation 3, Microsoft Windows, PlayStation, Xbox 360. The game was award by GameSpot Award for Most Disappointing Game.

In Merciless 2 World in Flames, you play as one of four new characters, each with his/her own story to tell and unique skills to develop. The game starts with a prologue that ties up all previous events and introduces its four main characters. The game revolves around these characters and their struggle to save the Earth from Dr. Darkkanel, the evil creator of Dr. Darkkanel robots, and his armies of Zanies, all of whom want to destroy the Earth.

Plot Of Mercenaries 2 World in Flames
The story starts in the city of Mars Station, a facility manned by four human scientists, one of whom happens to be an expert on underground combat and traps. During one of his comings, he finds several stolen crates and escapes to a rendezvous with his friend Sam, who happens to be on board the mercenary ship Almas. However, things do not go well between them there, and Sam gets killed in the process. Angered by this, Sam vows never to look into underground combat again.
The plot and gameplay of Merciless 2 World in Flames follow the same level as the first, with the main storyline of protecting the Earth, although now in HD. You still have to protect the Earth by sabotaging the Dr. Darkkanel Robots while also defending yourself from all the different waves of Zanies. It seems like you’re just cleaning up a few zones every hour and using a couple of other methods to kill the enemies for the first few levels. Occasionally though, there will be an objective that requires you to fight a group of Dr. Darkkanels and destroy all their targets. You will find more than enough opportunity to put some money into a skill or level up your character throughout most of the game.
