Warhammer Chaosbane is an action role-playing video game developed by Cryptic Studios and published by Bigben Interactive. It will be available for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 5, and Xbox in November 2020. The Game will be single in stores starting in March, but availability is subject to change.

Warhammer Chaosbane draws inspiration from several different sources, such as the traditional Warhammer mythology, the dark world of Warhammer Online, and the successful tabletop game of the same name. The Game is built around the idea that the Chaos faction of the Warhammer Online universe will fall to chaos and be reduced to a single entity, eventually destroyed. Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning featured the old school Warhammer factions like the High Elves, the High Orc and the Dark Elves as the main competitors in the Game. However, the most interesting departure from the original theme is Chaos’ lack of magic. Chaos bards are expected to carry out random attacks using magic instead of traditional “bludgeoning” methods.

What makes Warhammer: Chaosbane interesting is that it introduces a completely new story. Set 5,000 years before the main game’s events, it features new races like Vampires, Warriors, Thieves, Dwarves, and Humans. These races play key roles in battling the boss monsters in Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning and are also involved in the Tomb Kings expansion’s narrative.
Unlike the earlier hack-and-slash versions of Age of Reckoning, Chaosbane was shaped by the creativity of modders. The first beta build of the Chaos Knight expansion introduces new melee combat animations and an improved skill system for both offense and defense.
