Sonic Forces is an Adventure game developed by Sonic Team and it is scheduled to release for PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One sometime in fall 2021.It borrows some aspects from the famous Sonic the Hedgehog video game series. The game has been heralded as a “rogue” platform game due to its addictive nature and its exciting combat sequences. The story of Sonic Forces revolves around the return of Dr. Finkelstein after his mysterious new villain known as Doctor Eggman makes an appearance. During his absence, a powerful robot known as the Negative Zone appeared where only the Dragoons’ most robust could go. Since the only way to defeat the menace is to reach the Zone’s bottom, Dr. Finkelstein sends his newest assistant, Sonic, to retrieve the Lost Ring while going through the many tunnels that are spread across the planet.

The game takes place on various islands that were once under Dr. Eggman’s Egg Island rule. While on this Island, a massive wormhole constructed, which sends its inhabitants, the Zorgons, to another world. However, the powerful Dr. Eggman sends his six henchmen to retrieve the legendary female hero’s gem-encrusted heart, Sonic the Hedgehog. To complicate things more, a mysterious thief known as Chaiken appears on the Island and attacks the Gorgons. To save Sonic and his friends, the game includes several different paths, each leading to a different part of the Island. Additionally, there are three different endings wherein you could choose which character class you would like to take up.
The game starts with the usual Sonic adventure to locate the Lost Ark and go back in time to collect the lost Egg. You then have to go back in time again to prevent Dr. Eggman from finishing his final scheme. Unlike previous installments, in the Sonic Forces, you must assist the humans and the banks in combating the bad guys and protect the people and the Island from the greedy Dr. Eggman. When you have reached level one, you will automatically start at level two, where you have to go around the Island and perform some minor tasks to gather up enough points to move on to the next episode.
The game’s story revolves around a secret laboratory located somewhere in the world called the Capsule Corporation. Here you find that Dr. Eggman has created a chemical known as Chaos Control. When introduced into the world, this chemical would cause various anomalies and disasters caused by some mysterious new villains who were trying to gain control over time. You then have to assist Sonic and Tails in defeating enemies and acquiring items needed for the storyline and level up.
